Long story short in the interest of the thread:
The MWR kit was missing pieces and/or the hardware they sent was the incorrect size, the adaptor plate and the clutch cover holes didn’t line up and had to be widened, the engine mounts didn’t fit correctly so the trans was hitting the rear subframe, the front mount interfered with the oil cooler lines, one axle was the incorrect length, as well as a bunch of other issues. I tried to work with them (as did my mechanic who is both a Lotus owner himself with an Exige and a 7 and does tons of custom and one off projects). We sent pictures, called, emailed, etc. We’ve got pretty much no help. They basically said that they’ve never heard of problems with the kit and can’t understand the pictures/descriptions. We have decided just to fabricate our own mounts and be done with it. The Driveshaft Shop built another axle at the correct length and will be attempting to get MWR to pay for it (we are shipping the brand new axle MWR shipped to them as the Driveshaft Shop built the axles so they can forward back to MWR). I’m hoping they’ll at least pay for that mistake. So far, the most they’ve said they’d do with the axle is “inspect” it. No mention of sending me a good one. Just send them the bad one and wait. Basically their “bolt-in” kit was no where near bolt in and they’re providing extremely bad customer support. It is ridiculous when I state that there is an issue with the kit, send pictures, and they either fail to respond and/or send a reply that completely ignores the issue I’m having and/or say that they’ve never heard of a problem like that, etc.
I am building a custom turbo kit based on the Borg Warner EFR 7064 Twin Scroll. I am trashing the ff275 my car came with. That kit was rushed in to production garbage. Not to mention the EFI and stock wire harness issue. The only things I am keeping out of the kit are the EFI standalone and the intercooler.
I am keeping the EFI because it does what it is told just like any standalone. (when you aren’t using the stock wiring harness.) Going to full race wiring harness and data logger dash to get rid of guages (at the same time adding more sensors) and eliminate any stock harness issues, clean up engine bay.

For years now i have wanted to carry out one of our awesome V6 transplants on an Elise, but we have always been so busy with Mr2 stuff that it never happened, but i thought it was time to get one under our belt to prove this can be done and very successfully. I put the word out a few months ago that i was after a “test mule” to carry out our first Elise conversion and was approached by one of your members (don’t know his forum name here yet!) but his names Kevin and this is his car on our lift ready for surgery….
OK Frank has bugged me enough and now that the SSC kit has gone public I can post up. This thread will remain in the rocket pig sty for a short while though for other reasons….maybe to be revealed later…..
As you know I toasted my transmission a little while ago. I pulled the whole motor with the trans this time with the intention of just giving things a checkover then out came the famous last words….”since the motor is out I might as well….” Everytime I looked at the car after that the list grew. The project turned into a mission to completely clean up the engine bay and simplify everything. Make as much room as possible for things and make it as easy to work on and check things as possible. So here goes the list of the things I can think off off the top of my head quickly…

So I’m going up the fwy on ramp this morning at 9:00 am and I see a silver/grey Porsche in my rear view as I’m going up the ramp, I signal left as I always do and accelerate through the first three gears up to 60-65 mph I pull into the number four lane and there is no one to the left/behind and no one in front of me so I am in cruise mode as I signal left to make my way to the number two lane at 65 mph when all of the sudden BAM I’m in a fuckin spin like you wouldn’t fuckin believe and come to a stop with my left rear end stuffed into the K rail on the right side of the hwy… The cock suckin fuckin cunt Porsche driver hit me from behind and spun me around like a police pit manuver, in doing so he left tire marks down my left rear and left front fender while I spun out… The fuckin cunt stopped about a mile down the road I was told as the paramedics took me to the ER for a thorough check up of my neck and left shoulder….
